Amid all the pomp and circumstance on Wednesday, a different kind of procession was spotted: a Secret Service cavalcade accompanying Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., whose niece, Alana Biden, is a member of the College class of 2011. Biden also greeted a former staff member, AnnMarie Tomasini, who is now director of intergovernmental relations in Harvard's office of public affairs and communications. Vice President Biden earlier attended a luncheon meeting in Boston on neuroscience research.
