Shared Interest Group events in September and October

The Harvard Alumni Association has approved more than 30 Shared Interest Groups; a complete list appears at https://alumni.harvard.edu/haa/clubs-sigs. Harvard Magazine invites SIGs to share news of their activities in this space. (Send items to classnotes@harvard.edu, using SIG in the “class year” line.)

Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization

The Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization will be co-hosting the Annual Welcome to Harvard event for new and returning students and fellows who are veterans and active duty military, and their families. We plan a BBQ tailgate party at Soldiers Field prior to the first home football game, against Brown, on the evening of September 28. In addition, we will be hosting informal social gatherings in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Cambridge in early October. Please check our website (www.harvardveterans.org) and Facebook page for details in early September, or contact us at harvardveteransorg@gmail.com.

Harvardwood

Out West, join Harvardwood and the Beijing Screenplay Competition in Los Angeles this September for a panel event on the Chinese film industry and a ceremony to celebrate the grand prize winner of the contest. Back East, on October 2, Harvardwood NY brings the acclaimed G Sharp Duo to perform “Romantic Music for Violin and Piano” at the Down Town Association. Visit www.harvardwood.org for details and/or to register.
