Three Cheers

Welcoming the magazine’s new publisher and two editorial colleagues

Natalie Vinard, Harvard Magazine’s new publisher

We warmly welcome a bumper crop of new colleagues who joined Harvard Magazine this autumn.

Natalie A. Vinard—an experienced print and digital media and marketing manager and strategist—became publisher on November 6. A veteran of Boston Globe Media for more than a dozen years, and of America’s Test Kitchen beginning in 2015 (most recently as vice president, marketing), Vinard earned her B.S. in journalism at Northeastern University in 2002 and her M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, in 2011. In announcing her appointment, William C. Kirby, president of the Harvard Magazine Inc. Board of Directors, said, “Natalie brings to the organization exactly the skills it needs to extend the reach of its reporting, to shape and implement the strategy for better serving the readers of today and tomorrow, and to test and pursue successfully additional sources of revenue. At a moment when Harvard’s work matters more than ever around the world, we are eager to sustain the magazine’s strengths and to extend its reach and impact as an indispensable source of information about the University’s scholarship, teaching, and people.”

Nina Pasquini ’21 joined as staff writer in late October. A distinguished former editorial intern at the magazine, she pursued journalism fellowships in Asia and Europe following her (remote) graduation, and now returns to reporting on the familiar territory of the greater Harvard community.

Olivia Farrar ’21 began work as digital content specialist just after the Thanksgiving holiday. She earned an M.Sc. at the University of Oxford, and has worked on digital content, strategy, and production for Audible and Robust Intelligence, an artificial-intelligence security company based in San Francisco—excellent training for her new responsibilities for our social media and other digital channels.

The entire staff is excited to work with these colleagues, as we keep you informed about and connected to Harvard.
