Every vote counts... An Insider's Guide... Comings and Goings...

Let your voice be heard. Ballots for University Overseers and elected directors of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) should arrive in the mail by mid April and must be returned by June 1 to be counted. All Harvard degree holders are eligible to vote. The list of nominees below was accurate as of February 1. The names of additional candidates, if any (see footnotes below), will appear in the May-June issue.

An Insider's Guide

"Return to Harvard day," on Wednesday, April 18, offers visitors the chance to see the University while classes are still in session. Alumni of all College classes are invited, as well as this year's reunion classes, their spouses, and high-school-age children in particular. Attendees can join undergraduates in class and meet with faculty members, among other activities. Reunion class members in the Greater Boston area will receive an explanatory brochure from the Harvard Alumni Association. Comings and Goings

Harvard clubs around the globe regularly host speakers and gatherings; see the two lectures listed below, taking place in Florida. Check your local club for spring events, or refer to the HAA website.

The Harvard Club of Broward County hosts Catherine Ayoub, Ph.D. '90, associate professor at the schools of education and medicine, on March 21 for a lecture on "Childhood Trauma and Violence Prevention." On April 4, history lecturer Brett Flehinger, Ph.D.'97, will give a talk entitled "Reflections on Harvard 1925" at the Harvard Club of the West Coast of Florida.

*Nominations of one or more additional Overseer candidates may be made in each year by holders of Harvard degrees. Such nominations must be made on an official nomination form furnished by the Secretary of the Board upon request to qualified applicants, and for 2001 had to contain at least 268 valid signatures. Such nominations, addressed to the Secretary of the Board, had to be filed at his office, 17 Quincy Street, Cambridge 02138, by 5 p.m. on February 9, 2001.
