Edward C. Forst, executive vice president, announced that Dan Shore, who has been acting vice president for finance since May, has been appointed vice president for finance and chief financial officer. The text of the University's news release appears here. A news story on Harvard's financial performance and challenges during fiscal year 2008, ended last June 30, will appear in the November-December issue of Harvard Magazine, now on press; Shore was interviewed in detail as part of the news-gathering for that story.
