Harvard beats Cornell 24-7 to go 4-0

Harvard's football team came to life in the second half to defeat Cornell, 24-7.

In his second straight start, quarterback Scott Hosch was 20-of-25 passing. The ever-efficient junior made use of all of his receivers, including running back Andrew Casten (28) on a 43-yard catch-and run.

Harvard bested Georgetown in football, 34-3, to make its record 3-0.

The Crimson beat the Hoyas in their first meeting, extending Harvard’s 2015 record to 3-0.

Returning from injury, Paul Stanton Jr. turned the game around with a 43-yard touchdown run in the third period. Stanton finished with 123 yards on 21 carries.

In the final minute of play, safety Jaron Wilson stopped Penn halfback Kyle Wilcox at the Harvard 20-yard line after a one-yard gain on a swing pass. Holding off three final passing attempts, the Crimson defense quashed the Quakers’ late bid for a game-tying rally.
