The Games are back—and a handful of Crimson athletes are heading to the cold, the slopes, and the ice.
The XXV Olympic Winter Games will take place February 6-22 , and the Paralympic Games from March 6-15. Here are the six current and former Crimson athletes (including one general manager) who will represent their nations in Milano Cortina, Italy—and when you can watch them compete.
Dan Cnossen M.P.A. ’16, MTS ’18
Cross-country skier Dan Cnossen is one of the most decorated athletes in U.S. Paralympic history, with seven career Paralympic medals, including two golds. A former Navy SEAL who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan in 2009, Cnossen will compete in his fourth Paralympic Winter Games.
Cnossen is set to race on March 10.

Della Rovere will make her Olympic debut with the Italian women’s ice hockey team. The 25-year-old forward was a dominant force at Harvard, tallying 122 points with 56 goals and 66 assists in 128 career games. Her senior year, she led the NCAA in faceoff wins.
After graduating, Della Rovere briefly competed in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) for the Ottawa Charge before moving to Italy’s European Women’s Hockey League for the EVB Eagles Südtirol. There, she led the league in scoring and helped Italy advance internationally, culminating in her selection for the 2026 roster. She is currently a reserve player for the PWHL Toronto Sceptres.
Italy plays its first game against France on February 5.

Drolet returns to the Winter Olympics for the second time as a member of Team Canada’s cross-country ski squad. A native of Rossland, British Colombia, he first competed at the 2022 Beijing Games.
While at Harvard, Drolet won the NCAA men’s 20-kilometer classic and earned multiple All-America honors, becoming one of the most decorated Nordic skiers in Crimson history.
Drolet will race at the Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium beginning on February 8.

Maschmeyer makes her second Olympics appearance as a goaltender for Team Canada. One of the Crimson’s all-time greats, Maschmeyer holds the program record for career saves with 2,538.
Maschmeyer helped Canada win gold at the 2022 Beijing Olympics and has earned multiple World Championship medals: three gold, four silver, and one bronze between 2015 and 2024. She now aims to help Canada defend its Olympic title and maintain its dominance in women’s ice hockey.
Maschmeyer plays her first game on February 5.

Johnson—a current Harvard Extension School student studying psychology—will represent Team USA in freestyle moguls. This will be her second Winter Olympics; she competed in PyeongChang in 2018 when she was 17. She first made the U.S. national team three years earlier, at age 14, the youngest moguls skier to do so.
She earned silver at the 2025 Engadin World Championships in dual moguls and bronze at the 2019 World Championships in Utah.
Johnson will have her first run on February 10.

Don Sweeney ’88
Sweeney will serve as Assistant General Manager for Team Canada’s men’s ice hockey team, bringing decades of National Hockey League (NHL) and international experience to the Canadian staff.
In his own time as a Crimson athlete, Sweeney was named an NCAA East All-American and an ECAC First Team All-Star in Men’s Ice Hockey. Sweeney went on to play for the Boston Bruins, ranking among the top ten in Bruins team statistics. He now serves as General Manager for the Bruins, a position he has held since May 2015.
Team Canada will play its first game on February 12.
