6 Harvard faculty members among 72 new members of National Academy of Sciences

Honored for work in disciplines including economics, climate change, genomics, mathematics

Gary Chamberlain, Berkman professor of economics;
George M. Church, professor of genetics (a leader in genomics research, whose work is profiled here);
Joseph D. Harris, Higgins professor of mathematics;
Andrew Strominger, York professor of physics;
Steven C. Wofsy, Rotch professor of atmospheric and environmental sciences (whose work in the Amazon rain forest is profiled here and whose research on climate change generally is covered here); and
X. Sunney Xie, Mallinckrodt professor of chemistry and chemical biology (whose work on molecular imaging is profiled here).
