Facing the loss of the Rieman dance center to the Radcliffe Institute in 2005, Harvard College dean Benedict Gross has appointed a committee to explore accommodating the dance program within the Quadrangle Recreational Athletics Center. Dance is one of many undergraduate arts programs clamoring for space as student participation steadily increases.

Separately, Thomas W. Lentz, Ph.D. '85, director of the Smithsonian Institution's international art museums, was named Elizabeth and John Moors Cabot Director of the Harvard University Art Museums as of November 15. Securing new space will be on his agenda also, as will renovating the Fogg.
