Video: scientists explain the emerging field of metabolomics.

Metabolomics studies hundreds of metabolites found in the bloodstream, in an attempt to understand everything from metabolic diseases like diabetes and cardiac ailments to high-level athletic performance. In this video, while a patient with risk factors for cardiovascular disease receives monitoring at Massachusetts General Hospital, two cardiologists there, Robert Gerszten and Greg Lewis, explain more about metabolomics.
