The SIGnboard

If you seek fellow alumni who share your interests, remember that the Harvard Alumni Association has approved more than 20 Shared Interest Groups; a full list appears at https://post.harvard.edu/harvard/clubs/html/SIGdir.shtml. Harvard Magazine invites SIG officers to share news of their groups’ activities in this space. (Send items to classnotes@harvard.edu, using SIG and the group’s name in the “class year” line.)

Harvard Alumni Alliance for the Environment

HAAE (www.enviroalliance.com) welcomes all alumni and other members of the Harvard family interested in the environment. Members come from all fields and walks of life, environmental experts and novices both, sharing in common only Harvard roots and a concern for Earth’s future. Have fun connecting with friends and peers, learning about this important and emerging field, networking with people engaged in it, and helping to save our future! HAAE includes an active online community and live events in major cities. To join, send an e-mail to enviroalliance@post.harvard.edu.

Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs

HAE is dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship and the ideals of leadership and learning. For 10 years, the group has been a meeting point for founders and innovators worldwide, serving alumni from all of Harvard’s schools and at all phases across the arc of a self-authored career. This spring HAE invites alumni to participate in two activities: regional book clubs and an online anthology. Beginning in March, alumni will gather around the world to discuss the leadership lessons found in literature. Hosts and participants are needed; to get involved, visit www.harvardalumnientrepreneurs.com/events/ucevents.php. Alumni are also invited to share their definitions of personal, professional, and societal success through the HAE anthology. To read essays or submit your own 500-word statement, visit www.harvardalumnientrepreneurs.com/anniversary/contribute.php.

Harvardwood

Harvardwood (www.harvardwood.org) is a global organization for alumni, students, faculty, and staff working or interested in the arts, media, and entertainment. New York City-based alumni in these fields are invited to its networking event at the National Arts Club on March 4. On the West Coast, the group hosts a screening of Harvard Beats Yale 29-29 with director Kevin Rafferty ’70 (see “The Force Was With Them,” November-December 2008, page 79) on March 6 in Los Angeles.
